PCM Infrastructure Funding

PCM receives infrastructure funding from three primary sources, each with specific rules about how the money can be spent:

  • Physical Plant and Equipment (PPEL): PPEL is a property tax levy, approved by the school board and voters. Funds are restricted to infrastructure and equipment expenses. This chart shows how much PCM received for the 25/26 school year and how we spent those funds.
  • Secure Advanced Vision for schools (SAVE): Think of SAVE as penny sales tax funds. In 2008, the state of Iowa allotted 1% of state sales taxes to go to public schools. The state distributes the sales tax to districts on a per student basis. The PCM School Board approves this fund following a public hearing.
  • General Obligation Bond (G.O. Bond): The G.O. Bond is voter-approve and used for specific construction projects. Payment for this bond comes from Debt Services Levy

This documents outlines where the funds come from, the amount PCM received for the 25/26 school year, and how we used that money.
