yes yes yes we need a motion to approve the agenda I'd like to make a motion to remove agenda item 83 it business items reconsideration committee and then a previous agenda as amended all in favor say I I post constituents correspondent there's no place and we're going down to Good News okay uh a couple things here uh the PCM High School dance team took the first place for state division 5 uh Hip Hop nice we might we might you know somebody that within that right yeah okay uh it's our second year in a row as state champs they also play sports to come uh this the team Works incredibly hard on the routine starting in June each year great job Mustangs uh the bus bar and transformation is 99% is it 100% yet since this was reported I don't see siding okay okay okay yeah that's why I said 99% it doesn't ring on Thursday both sides working out pretty good what I can see so yeah thanks for all the hard work that's great yeah um so PCM wrestlers and Community youth wrestlers are using the space and uh thanks to Rusty the facilities crew and Mustang construction students so it's a good good opportunity for those students uh PCM departments have been busy prepping for and presenting their holiday concerts middle school and high school concert require students are also performed the national anthem have written Iowa Wild games that night was questionable whether getting them there but they made it and got back so it was good um and I think there's a high school concert tonight also yeah so at 7 oclock and the elementary schools hosted their annual shopping days this place was completely full the last few days uh pce also yeah so um just a great opportunity for kids to pick out uh 2 presents to give their for their or during the holiday season so thank you to everyone who donated the items and or volunteered to wrap presents yeah there was quite a few volunteers here to make that happen so anybody have anything else okay down to comedian they I don't think we nominated spokesperson for Google anything for finance uh Finance it is quickly start finances and reviewed what we're going to be talking about tonight a little bit so nothing nothing really to report anybody from the policy meeting just like this in first okay all to confess agenda I have a question about the snow removal it looks like I mean we're 6 times more and breaks it even more in the middle left directors contractor um the bed is different and there's also ice melts here and that changed by the inch Rusty is that within contract rate if you like 4 inches so much and then 6 inches is so much no it's about an hour okay this is straight up by the hour but then in 6 engines they're currently sitting down orange where I got that I think I think that's by by our where machines are usually I'm saying adds an hour for every no it's just a a rule of thumb if you guys sit to 6 in the snow it's probably going to take 6 hours which is kind of a snow please call me this this is going to get pretty expensive we actually talked about that just a little bit in our finance committee how many schools are up over what they may have budgeted for already so just think hear me it's going to rain Thursday so we're going to be going and start again we'll be right back yeah exactly have a question Sam what's different about your policy that was more of a success oh this year yeah um telling the students that backed by the law this year as opposed to this is just our handbook yeah and now tell the story because as soon as I wrote that board update and submitted it I came out of my office and there was another phone on the desk right for me a teacher and just taken so I went from 2 to 3 in like the time it took me to submit it and I know I shouldn't have bragged about that so but really the big thing was at the beginning of the year we we're now each class has a meeting and I talked about you know this isn't just a Mr Brown policy or Mr Brown ruling more now this is backed by the state this is a this is a law it's legal so gotcha yeah I was saying emotion I'll make a motion I'll second all in favor of approving the consent agenda post okay now I'll go to principal 1 direct updates have any comments in there you know what that that Motors that got fried got covered already at the middle school are you talking on the update yeah just say it was the storm do some some medicine I don't really I haven't heard about that there's a transportation report in there too okay we go down to business items and we'll talk about grade alignment realignment I have you know I got a package for you yes we got a the packet of information for you guys to a lot of this information you you've seen let me share that you guys have seen before on my other presentation about budget enrollment um how possibility of a great alignment could work out what the numbers look like so I just put it together for you guys to look through again does it spark any any other thoughts conversation so this first part is just thinking through um does great alignment realignment makes sense for us for this upcoming period for right sizing our physical buildings but then also looking at our overall general fund general fund budget so obviously that would be taking 3K to over to Prairie City and um putting them together with 3 through 8 there and I would just view this this this item and the next item as an opportunity for you as 7 board members to really kind of talk through um what grade realignment looks like and what what question if you guys may have before at some point we do a format or I'll go on on this type of um potential Road after a certain page piece of information that you have questions on let me let me know I guess I'm just kind of looking at the the class size guidelines yeah so you have a list what the class sizes would be if we so that'd be just like that that map that I that I shared with you um this this right here okay so you know what we're what we're looking at with the possible realignment uh we're looking at prec prek 2 prek4 18 18 to 20 um class size range and then 5 through 8 we're looking at 21 through 21 and 24 those are all in that ideal ideal range um I know that many other quite a few other districts that have would have higher flat sizes than that also with you and you're going to find some that smaller also but um where those where those numbers are that range is that's a that's a really good range and it actually this class size guideline was before me um but something that I think the district has followed over a few years but um that fits in that that target range in the rooms at the elementary take on more than 20 actions and make let's say we have a growth yeah that's 24 20 400 rooms right now and 22 and the fourth grade rooms yeah and then big people like fifth graders were big so well bigger than you I mean I'm looking at of the first grade where like we see here first grade or music or preschool or first grade I just kind of flex depending on class sizes or yeah or are they going to be shared know they won't be we're just kind of like this will fit in this space yeah so I would say this is a a moving document but we feel like we feel comfortable with the class sizes and the amount that we need its if it was if it was decided we would then like really dig in on what exactly where do we want to put each each grade level for sure so um but in that pce Wing it's going to look Pre-K Pre-K for there'll be a couple in the link area preschool 5 5 would move up to the Middle School okay this okay here we go off the side timeline there we go yeah but I don't see it in here because this is this is on the bottom there stuff okay it's right yeah and then 53 on the back side of that what's in the rooms now with the fifth grade goes in the Middle School uh 1 is a special education Room 1 is what our auxiliary room um because since we moved a special ed teacher out of that room over to the elementary side we've got some space so it's where like Bridget Martin teaches her exploratory um this wouldn't all the in the morning teaching and exploratory there um up if you look in the north hallway the south side of the north hallway it says 5th 21 that right now is there's a what would you call it Rusty just a drive a basic drywall wall in between those 2 between there and so the thought would be to take that not held and then that would be a suitable room for a fifth grade very many file on the extracurricular spaces so Jim and lunchroom and music Library I mean there was day through 5 at both buildings at 1 time anyways but I think you're talking about it seems like more kids more people using those spaces yeah that was scheduled to make sure Jim space and lunchroom you can still get all that in um um okay because either music will stay where it's at more of physical go into the you have it over in the community classroom area and the middle school so they'll they'll be so if you need that room is that you just said the the Elementary music would go to the middle school if you need that for the first grade yeah the community classroom which is just on the other side of the office is there any sharing like so praise the Lord going to be interacting with eighth graders right in this plan they would never hear fourth grade below you never go over the other side your brother's day would go is it the music rooms in my community classroom that would be the further they go that would be you know have that 3 sections of the screen you know do you feel like you're gonna have an issue with the playground space 1 more time do you feel like you're gonna have issues with playground space as far as getting everybody out to reset I like we'll schedule it so it's not crammed with everybody out there but just thinking through like what we need for equipment yeah things like that that might be something that we have to look at from this building maybe get it over there I don't know that's fine just the division just take away from playground time for fish grade students we would what we would probably do what we do right now for sixth grade well actually everybody now just take them out to the uh from the football field when it's nice and up when it's not nice to know the lord of the gym and she would always play volleyball or whatever run around Chase each other around so they would still have a recess time they just might look a little bit different not being on the toys okay so then it would be official 8 middle school then so this is an extension of the mentoring this is yeah they would fall under his Direction at the bed they're kind of looking at those kids but it looks like 1 of the terms like 2 thirds the size of the menu we have the same amount of students so and I I probably should have put a disclaimer drawings may not be the scale of the same general size yes yeah I top 1 those little skinnier doesn't is there anything that gives you a heartache about this plan like if there was a worst case scenario that would happen I believe I see more than that everything that it's more of that like how to bring everything together like how to put 2 libraries together because that's always been separate for the rest of it and we moved back and mean yeah but those aren't like deal breakers so saying and it is a lot more bodies than we have right now so that is yeah so the evaluated like the tornado shelters and Fire evacuation stuff like that just have to think all that through none of it should really change from what we're doing now because we're using all those classrooms and they all have plans so like none of those pieces would really change playground question is a good 1 I have a good thing about the track over the university but probably see about the maintenance um is that space used the old track football practice in in the fall and then for when we take kids out for recess um Bridget will use it Bridget Martin will use it for GM of course to go out there and run the mile whatever this is sheet will take the elementary kids out there when it's nice to do different things so she's now a message right is there anything we should be putting money into um it's been better shape right now when that comes to my mind that's related to this potential realignment we either be enough equipment I might need something young I don't know what we're going to need for preschool and On The Go PTO said they had money set aside for right so the Elementary playground and I still have that and anything with and I'm not sure like the exact amount but they said they would give that money to the court that whenever you do it I know a few years back they talked about having a playground come in just for preschool to like we had an order yeah yeah is that a deal that we stopped is that what happened well we couldn't get it for some reason yeah what are you coming it didn't step backwards or something changed and decided to stop it we had somewhere around 80,000 or something like that 78 780 you know point in time when we started having all of these great alignment discussions and all kinds of things we're getting you know ideas we're getting pitched and thrown out I know there was talk of putting a second playground area on that like North End of the football you know for the older kids is that still something you guys are talking to the app like where the football field is the middle school yeah like I'm down on that North End not right now or not I can love that I have I haven't heard that right just because it's middle school right now and that's not really appropriate for middle school I just know like yeah no there is space outside like the fourth grade classrooms that grass space over there there's a big old tree like that space is currently utilize so we can certainly look at some how we could better utilize that space and that Southside else a little slow but we can look at it over by the time anything that used to be yeah I think for us putting something on the north side of that it probably was not a priority right now either just because what we've got kids kids when I get to at least sixth grade and I assume pretty close to 532 there's more I shouldn't have some free time to be able to get together with their friends and green space yeah yeah better to stop by and I don't care was it parking been a while as far as how many spots you need work and no but I was just thinking about that we'd have to see it's going to be full that back parking lot would be cool yeah when you had the concert the other the other night it was you need both sides of that school open but as far as like a regular school day um I mean you don't have high school kids bringing bringing their kids or bringing their cars there things like that so it's more the activity activity nights and you're not something that we can adjust when we concerts how do we how do we chunk out grades for the concerts and and so on to make sure that the parking that we have is suitable for that something that okay is that something that we need to prioritize in our our yearly save Pebble budget that maybe wasn't there you know last year the year before you know so if we can expand expand out towards the football field or like that so priorities change you know make make decisions so something that we can get playgrounds we can look at parking but I think some of that some of the parking definitely can be handled by chunking doing smaller chunks possibly with concerts and so on how about educational benefit I don't want to say that the wrong way here but it's going to help make it worse um I'll I'll let them try here in just a second but I just from what I've from what I've seen um when when departments grade levels can all be in 1 space I I've been part of a I was part of a cake case 12 building for 6 years and it was awesome the amount of collaboration that happened from K all the way up to all the way up to 12 as far as science department departments or grade levels like distance wasn't a thing it wasn't a problem for them late 315 happened you can get grades 3 through 8 together right now where you've got different right now you've got different times that buildings get out and you got to figure in the 15th of drive and and so on to to have something like that happen when you're chunking more grade levels together there's more opportunities for um for teachers to really talk through standards benchmarks their professional learning communities so that's something that I've seen as a as a benefit when you bring grade levels together but are there others that that you guys that you guys see right off the right off the bat just being able to share resources better yeah whether that be people or actually card copy of the things they're right together you can talk about it um just the hallway conversations that happen we say you know when we were a part we could still collaborate but it's just it's not as it's easy when you're right there you know when you're in the moment and you think things through um The Specialist teachers will just love it I mean I feel like they're just they miss out on so much because they're they're the right place at the right time when it comes to like talking about things outside of their class periods um Stephen get get in all the teacher meetings that they need to get in to all the Leader in Me Things They just they miss out on that stuff everywhere from the special ed standpoint having more you know looking at our spend resources being able to have them under 1 roof we can better allocate and and distribute the students case loads because right now some might be high some might be low but when they're all together we can better figure out those schedules and most of them better um and then I'm just thinking too like I know that here they have a lot of high schoolers that come over and Mentor I don't know what that would look like but that would be something that my kids don't get access to and we don't have high schoolers coming over so that would be nice I've got something that we could whether I don't know maybe it's open compass thing if you just maybe it's just a Juniors and seniors that have the mentoring and I hear a lot and I wasn't here when it was a K5 building but I hear a of oh it was so neat when we took ice as when the kindergarten buddies did these for you know the third fourth and fifth graders and I you know the teacher still talk about having the littles in the building and what they did for the for the uppers so just being able to bring some of that that cut I think they I mean that's exciting to see what that looks like because I haven't seen it I think something also goes back to my days of being in a K12 campus was that I think it kind of relates back to like hey are these are the preschoolers going to cross paths with the graders when I was in that that environment for that amount of time it was 1 of the coolest things ever is that the the preschoolers kindergarteners will cost some paths with 7 eighth graders over time like it was type of school I went to it was awesome like and like I totally get the initial like oh my gosh they're gonna Gonna Hurt our Littles you you build an environment like that's just like they remember being that preschool kid at 1 or that Kindergarten kid and now they're the eighth grader or the seventh grader whatever being the role model giving them high fives saying how low is their walking walking through um again I would just say that that was 1 of the coolest unexpected things of an environment like that it's just an expectation that you take care of your Littles you know so um just something else that can be added can we if you realign in this way I think people maybe get a bad idea about how to over things along that I think you know if that's the football game that they all align the stairs to get the little player 5 knives and they're coming up and I feel like it's going to be more of that type of interaction than it is like say greater is going up to the preschoolers and like Whispering about things you know and I think principals can like dictate that a little bit too you know it's not maybe it's not every single day but schedules May mean that pay for this special they've got to go down this hallway they've got to they've got to get past um go past the something good room I don't know but um principles can dictate a lot of that with with Master scheduling and so on throughout throughout the year is this the information you shared with the Columbus I would say a huge not plan to share 1 day yeah yeah yeah so um maybe not the the map and uh the ssa1 that 1 was wasn't shared but I plan to share a version of that is because we because we talked about it we talked about SSA in relation to the general fund and so on um but I just spend that night I didn't have a specific slide but we probably talked 5 to 10 minutes on on that topic so in the upcoming 0% potential so but yeah I'll be I'll be quite a quite a bit of this um let's see what's the uh what's the downside in your opinion um there's 1 thing you're like this might be something we need to address in the next year or 2 from this new I would say in the in the transition the first year that you do it will be the the tightest year as far as in that but after that based on projections that that tightness to like man it feels like there's there's a lot of kids in here like we you can see that you feel like it it can happen but based on projections it's going to be less and less for about the next 6 years so before we finally level itself out um you know and some of the I don't know about a downfall is just there are some parts of this decision that aren't going to be fine-tuned in December January like we'll have to talk through Transportation we'll have to talk through the playground a lot of those some of those things will have to be decided over the next 5 to 6 months and people will have to trust us that we're going to get those things in place right um the biggest downfall um is the 1 thing that I think trying to get people over that hurdle is trying to think here and set up here the heart the heart's the big use hurdle that is the downfall people feel like when I when I when I'm building closes its part of the community but what we're really trying to do here is to make sure that this this PCM Community School District drives for years to come by making a solid financial decision right at the moment so um that that might be a downfall that we have to work through and keep building up when people trusting us that we're making the right decision for the longevity of our district here so I don't know if any others like downfalls or anything but the first thing you touched on is exactly what I was thinking too is it's going to be tighter a year or 2 but I'm not I'm thinking from a middle school perspective we moved next year we moved 83 8 printers out we moved 60 uh of the fourth graders in back and so that's a net 20 right smaller that's a good question that's that's what came to my mind initially to was that I don't feel comfortable and you know as we're talking about general fund operating costs building that sort of thing at the same time though we're going to start the conversations about investing back in the in the community you know and so as we're somewhat tight at the at the middle school but we know that we or at the PC in the Middle School we're also thinking about that vision of possibly 7 7 through 12 you know we're all we're starting to talk about how do we rethink what we have going on at the high school purposing some spaces that sort of thing that we can eventually get 7 and 8 over to the high school but again the projections say that we're going to have space for that but um there might be some say bomb there might be some Geo Bond type of thing that and 1 more great realignment right so that'll be something that we talk about in the future but how much extra room is there is there extra room in the high school right now or at the moment no that's what that's why we didn't make that make that move first so it's it's going to be based on our projections of enrollment when we do still do the exploring Tories were the Affairs come over you see like 4 years room opened their it could be could be less than that again you you think about repurposing spaces getting architect behind that and be thinking what we actually have the first square footage we we might be ready to do that earlier and 4 years it kind of some of those discussions are transformed not in space a new science room yeah um because I utilized a lot right now yeah yeah but I mean there's other spaces that students can go to for the exact same reason right so the comments for example can be used for group work which it is sometimes libraries are really large space for that problem space that again getting some people that have ideas bigger than mine and knowing how walls and things like that can move and repurpose that that space and get that that space ready for another great alignment in the future so um anything else on great realignment I hope if we're kind of treating 1 and 2 together or if that's we've been the kind of go together but I think we keep them separated thing but anything else on great realignment so as I was thinking about this today talking with multiple people about the data that I that I've shared with you and presentation for work sessions um board updates that sort of thing what else do you need as far as information to be able to make an informed decision on on great realignment or do you feel like I have I have the information that I need I just need to sit on it I need to think about it I need to continue to talk about it or is there something something else um that you need us to bring bring me or bring to the table for you to to look at what's what's your date of you need you need this decision yeah I would say no no later 1 way or the other January 7th at the at the latest I even as early as as early as next week if we we could get a meeting together but they're the latest so there's no special meaning yeah yeah right about yeah yeah that way we know if you know we're trying to right-size our physical but our buildings but also on the other side trying to write size of a general fund budget is this is this building going to be considered in the right sizing of that general fund budget this year or if the if the decision is now then okay we know that the operating costs are not going to be figured into that that general fund savings and we've got to kind of change gears a little bit okay decisions that we need to that we need to do do try to get to that 1.5 million and if we can't get to it this year to that number then we would likely have to go into the following the following year uh to try to get to that number so but I'm just going to be honest with you if it if the say the board decides not to um so grade realign then I would likely bring it back to the table again the following year that we got to continue to have the discussion and what else what else what other information do we do we need for the staff say about it like teachers cited or scared or I think there's a little about this change the change I I'd say there's some teaching here forever just that love that love to build right love being able to teach little kids here um but then there is then you've got another sense of stat that completely understand and I've I've heard comments that I can't believe we haven't done this years ago so just like any any change there's people that love it there's some that just I get it but then there's something I like I need to do this now I don't know moving anything different next yeah the open the open Forum yeah I know there are some questions for me on some people okay like all the movies yeah I mean just money that would be available in the general fund to be able to go towards salaries that's operating costs at the other at the other buildings yeah so that's well add to that is that keeping in mind our home is going to continue the cost so that money is for we're losing last week and and Aaron addresses that but maybe it's not as clear as to well I however there in terms of yeah and we are also um we took some of some of the questions from the other night um we're working on that IQ um right at the moment that will probably put out after after the public meeting is that the question data from tonight at the board yeah is brought up to that so that I think so um some of us that were that were at the meeting when we were trying to what what all questions were there that night trying to get them get them down and trying to answer them the best that we can so uh we'll we'll gather that again from Wednesday night there's a new question how we doing we can post that and get a different spot so we have here it's a really good start of what that FAQ will look like so people can really understand they want to take some time to read through what those questions are no yeah possibility of um Tyler um video Wednesday night meaning would we have the capability to to video that well yeah we'll work on just how many cases really share that yeah yeah off my foot you know on the spot yeah so then we go up The Corner Room meeting in here yeah they're gonna I mean yeah I would say we had I looked back at camera I would say probably 45 45 to 50 people were in here so but doubles yeah well what's the backup plan I guess standing room only we'll get some more chairs or be they got they go on Wednesday night be there yeah okay look at time I need to look at dates if we want to well if you're wanting a decision before yeah so if if we streamed it and posted it do you still feel like we need to have another in-person night I feel like if we streamed it that's a pretty good yeah okay that hits right I mean I don't know when you would do it if you want and who to contact as long as they as long as us and could it be tonight yeah so so um yeah yeah so I think if we record it that you can get that out for people to to watch yeah but can you so it's your if you record it yeah presentation be visible to those people watching the recording or can bring that you present the available to some online yeah we can yeah I would imagine lie as a PDF yeah yeah so whatever like presentation I don't attach both of those and then update you document that we're gonna send that as well okay so be in the minutes portion just so they can see the same information yeah you won't be able to see it on the screen if you're not in the room right yeah I don't think I will be in it for a week but I put a space in there for supporting documents so we can attach it then okay you're ready to move on to building discussion or does anybody else have anything for a great divine okay we'll move on to building discussion so you you don't do anything with great realignment you're not doing anything so right so if you do something you approved great realignment you're essentially saying at a minimum you're closing you're closing this building right so um I think the discussion then is the 1 that what you want to do to um just to make sure that people understand that closing is so different than kind of the board saying that we're going to lease it to X person or we're going to sell it to X person right so um closing it doesn't require um it doesn't require a public hearing anything anything like that if you lease or sell it would require eventually require public hearing so um and those are things that we're working with dollars dollars on at the moment so um but I think those of us kind of the conversation of what things that have been presented to you what those what those thoughts may be so but if you decide not to do anything with great alignment or operate we're going back at y 27 done for 2.627 school year or operating as is and then we we know that that and savings is not going to be figured from from this bill you know is the this is dumb question but you know we close this building you know and I know replacement process in Maine on this thing our insurance is 20,000 a year I mean it's stuff like that but we can you just pay for 2 million on it you can't go a long ways we have a fire in here or something well you know I'm just wondering if we could reduce some cost for a year like that you know we're not going to be able to spell this right away even if we want to he said he talked to the insurance company and then it didn't make much difference okay and they stopped at the insurance replacement so basically be saving on utility bills if we'd like to set for couple months okay will there be a anything you want to refurbish it for in short I was a knot when you're attempting to do Dave on General general fund side of I mean if you're repurposing that means that you're putting equipment I can hear you possibly putting people back in here so in your mind if we close this 929 I I don't see I don't see that at the moment that were using it for anything right or in the coming year or 2 whatever I would say that you're getting ready to think about leasing or selling yeah like I told you like we talked before a drastic increase in enrollment would have to happen drastic to say we need to come back and we need to open this back up for an attendant Center if you decided to realign that's big businesses coming in that's lots of houses with families coming in and right at the moment that's not what we see at any plans right at the moment so yeah storage of all the stuff that we use there a lot of stuff needed we're going to have to find her I don't want to say rent storage spots again so yeah just keep now some sort of are don't get air but if it I mean if we was to get rid of it what would we do with everything that's a different that's a whole different yeah and then you know you look to see what what each again if you realigned if you plug the building you you look at what what is here and what does what does Prairie City need what is the high school anything be repurposed out to any of those current current buildings and then if we have extra furniture that sort of thing any districts have furniture sales and and so on close the building so working with these operating costs with this closed of 77,339 if I look over here in this left column there's 102301 the not General going extensions are all all of that 77,000 the general fund expense nope so our district concerns can be paid out of management um never hopefully yeah right after the map it would be the natural gas because we're in a risk tool so that's paid out of the main platform and then on our insurance I assume those are part of the 102 right I mean that's where you get the yep what what else in the current costs are not general fund there would be some in the non-instructional cost category and I don't have that the difference obviously I I increase the natural gas and insurance just assuming it's going to be more next year it's just a rough estimate so this little thing has to be operating cost for that looks a lot or a little bit better anyways take them all that off the top of it that's just kind of along those lines but looking at those those were utilities it's it's an estimate kind of took what the building looks like in the summer terasi point we still have to eat you know eating including happening to some degree so um those could be less or it could be more just to you know they uh looked at the space for all the history employees or that go high school high school or wherever is openings I guess where they yeah whatever Corner they said we've talked a little bit you know um there there are space is that we could go but we we we've talked about potentially the like the Outdoor Classroom we could we could repurpose that get a couple some office space there that could be a thing Rusty is currently down that that's the wrong join us I've been there before so I just again once you make a make a change see what it looks like see what's left is does it sent anything that's left in any of the 2 current buildings does it make sense that we could have a district office in 1 of those 2 current buildings if not that might be a that might be a location that we look at so what uh so we shut it down but keep it was there a I can almost said empty for so long rule or if we're going to sell it we have to sell it within so much time you know just honored how long the district went to the United States so that's my important you know I just I don't think we'd want to sit on it very long to in case something else breaks down we have I think you might be you might be surprised if you if you would close it what kind of Interest might come to don't want like this um for the things but um we're still working on that on the sell side the sell side is probably the is the 1 that is a little bit a little bit off at the moment we're still uh working on the dollars to say okay here's what we have left on our save on here's what we have left on our eeo and how does that impact the the change in use um of the of the building so yes but Leasing doesn't seem to be near near as much because you still you still own it you still own the building so but uh hopefully I'll have an an answer very soon I'm trying to get to that answer we we've shared we've shared with um with ahlers what we've what we've saved and you do a lot wise and so they can see you need to evaluate how much is left to to pay on versus what um what the projects actually were here so hopefully we get good news you know someone's not an issue down the road kind of words the information yeah so I've heard I've heard from Connor that Conor is here so Conor is helping out um a little bit but then there's another there's another 1 that specializes in real estate but really is tied to like bonding so I'm waiting for that person to get back to me but Conor's giving me all of the guidelines of closing selling leasing if this if you can do it here's all the procedures but this turn over here is looking at what impact does it have if you still owe on a saving save Bond and but it's in comparison to what the project cost and was left to pay so that she has to know why is it so would it be a yes now I think so I don't know where yeah I but I I think as she analyzes the the numbers she's gonna say okay what was what was put in to hear versus what you've already paid you you should be good good to go or okay you've got a it's a no right at the moment but you got to pay down x amount before you can actually cell yeah I'm trying for a while platforms on the building itself any other data that you might need we're going to make the folks in delay this January there I said that would be my on in alignment that time and the building at that time or just I would say they need to you can they can be separate but you know they need to be at the same meeting okay but the voters to shut down not necessarily or sell lead store you can make you could make a motion obviously the motion can be no let's operate as is we're not doing anything with it but if you decide to say let's go forward with the great alignment here ultimately saying we're we're going to close the building we're not leasing we're not selling um and then we can decide what we can decide that later on okay same if I have any other building discussion I feel like they're gonna be more and more yeah I just want to make sure so yeah no I mean we got the public we'll have the public meeting the 17th and then um we make that meeting public people watch it a couple couple weeks if we if you wait till January um for a special meeting you know last piece of information we talked about the part of the bigger to my mind now we can down the road sell it in the house soon alright alright we were talking about it's going to cost us more to get out of this loan to a little bit of a way to keep it yeah we did have that piece yeah that right well no we would just sit on it as usual in terms of what your operating cost is but yeah I think you're setting up for a long time that it's and I don't see it at all I don't you know I don't see it based on the actual amount like the percentage of what we put in to that I want to say it was like 17 million when you put it together close to that number when we use say bond yield bond together it was in that 17 million range I think and we put about 2 2 and a half into this building so the percentage of undergoing was pretty small in comparison to what we did cross the district for bails dollars so okay we're gonna go down to the 24 a review and approve question highlighter do yeah um we had 15 audit findings um 10 of which were repeat findings um a couple of them um we talked in our finance committee and segregation in the bases is a big 1 that's um you know we've implemented some things in the business office to kind of help that um to help mitigate our risk but at the end of the day and just within our size they're still going to be a certain level of risk that Auditors aren't comfortable that that findings pretty typical of a reoccurring kind of game um a couple of others we talked about was our um 4 minutes as well as um some other things that were were finding itself and it was at a high level but as we dig into it and talk with our Auditors and finally examples is kind of 1 off 1 instance of something um that maybe even would have been prior to Becky and I even get you here so um going to take that into account when they're looking through it we do have our fiscal year 25 a.d. to the questions for chania yeah close need a motion you have to approve that I'll make a motion to approve it we have a motion to approve motion and second to approve the 20 it's a year 24 Auditorium fundraisers like we have new High School fundraisers coming up I have to ask her to dance girls made enough money or not they were fundraising forever there they reached their goal the wind knows and they were on there every month there for a while cheerleading I don't know if they start at all okay motion to approve the fundraisers make a motion to approve motion second to approve the funding listed payers say I remember those motion carries policy the first 3 these are just policy primers that are given to us by I was School Board Association so some of them have some highlighted areas um just some maybe it's 1 or 2 words that need to be changed or could be a sentence or sentence or 2 so um every so often iasb will will send these just to make sure that districts get the most current current language into these into these policies I don't think there's anything um no major on either 1 I need to vote on the first 3 2 a motion if you if you see anything after the first read have you seen thing between now and the next meeting you just let us know and we can we can touch base on those okay I was pretty minding the language changes I'll make a motion to approve the first read of the policies listed a motion and a second to approve per Street and policy it's listed all of the favorites say hi in my post which I'm curious policy second reading I have a motion and policy 90501 we changed the time from 12 to 6 instead of 8 or something we discussed in the policy meeting um instead of picking Sunday night all the way to 8 oclock just for school kids 50 bed keep that clock on Sunday night it depends the change right I'm sorry that was the change isn't it it was 12 to 6 now it's no it's 12 to 8 with no I'm just saying the current policy is 6 yeah yeah yeah why was it updated today do you remember well it went from 6 to superintendent approval yeah back to 6 I think Mr yeah and I think it was from a sample couple sample policies that we were looking at from a couple other districts and so you know as we were looking at those couple other districts like okay some some do it hello so we standed to 8 but as we talk policy committee wise we we kind of felt like made sense to keep it back at a little bit back to 6 for student for PCM students and then you know somebody else will need to use it past 6 oclock that's not student confuse that because I got brought up for a they used it in my center for a cross country so that would mean superintendent approval it's 1 more time I believe they moved the Cross Country Banquet with a different facility because it was at 7:00 on Sunday and that's why that's why I believe he moved what that I don't know but I'm I'm okay but I think they should be able to use the commons or something if superintendent approval yeah for an event like that yeah um but um there's nobody said last name okay yeah so so the hazard because I couldn't have it couldn't have it here because you can't use school buildings after 6 on Sundays does have that sentence in here that it's within the discretion of the super okay so it was at 6 because we just we discussed this remember the and then it got changed to superintendent approval and it was that way for a while and I don't think anybody knew because everybody's so filed the 6:00 and even approved of the facilities were following the 6:00 I had no idea it changed the superintendent because I was getting a 2 for like an outside event because they said it was past 6 you gotta get well they didn't even know it wasn't board approve it but it everybody was still following 6:00 it changed and nobody knew that and so updating it that's when Jeremy oh let's do 8 but then it's like let's just move back to set 4 it was yeah so it was never really an 8 it was 6 oclock superintendent approval now we're going 6 oclock that's fine the only thing you have to change has changed from 6 8 6 on the letter from 12 through 6 and then leave the sentence within the discretion of the superintendent of those okay got it yeah okay so I think the other discussion was like the related to closings done in the policy um was it I know we were kind of the example was caucuses yeah that was an example of collective is that cancel that I mean so you ran the building was it like government yeah because that's a government entity but I get it closing up I don't know in accordance to a law because that was law that we had to hold I mean that they could use this building so I don't know if we changed like in accordance with the law or I can't you put it back as superintendent discretion oh yeah that's true unless it conflicts with Iowa Code I don't really have a backup so yeah we went through that yeah it's like I still have nightmares I mean no I mean it says maybe this phone call but give us an hour okay yeah we should be closed to school functions but not in school it says you know give to the supply so it used to be that would have changed too yeah it says all rental usage for a they may be canceled so yeah that's a good way it says may yeah yeah because they weren't too worried about something that was at school related so wanted to use the Ability and they want to use it they are liability and they got to get clean too that's the only way that we're allowing uses order a law type of thing that we have to follow yeah yeah so that video 1 time I met we got an email saying hey we're transforming the C is not going to be over okay I think we had an email today I got it in that page well yeah from that no no let's let's keep it as man I at least now have the example yeah online and what you're probably never happen again yeah it's gonna storm you want me to just leave it with May why got it okay so do right now we're having to play some defense a little bit with our budget and so on and so I'm going to be um in January looking to put out that facility survey I wanted to I wanted to make sure that this conversation was was done and that it didn't get it didn't get confused um once the community of what we were we're doing so just kind of looking at what our that facility survey will go out to it all mailboxes and um just trying to get a feel of what our what our future needs are um Within within the district where yeah because that down the road lead to potential safe on potential Geo Bond that's what that conversation looks like and so um but then also um will be contacting I've got a list ready to go for facilities Community facilities committee just seeking out um inquiries if they are interested in being being part of a facilities committee that will serve as I would say as an ad hoc committee to to the board we would also have our facilities our 3 facilities committee members from the board to be part of that be part of that Community to be part of the conversation but um that'll that'll be uh happening in January where some of that the starting of that process will happen and so um but then also we'll start talking about Architects contractors things things like that too but I want to try to get this conversation that we've just had kind of we know where we're going to be at or where the other and then we can start the the conversation with um future facilities um facility work with giovans aeon if that's what we want to do so but other than that I think that's all I have unless you have questions comments for me so we're waiting to schedule about till we get the answer from yeah yeah and I should have that this sweet can we just plan on December or January 7th or I was at the um if you want to look at your calendar January 5th or January 7th I think the fifth the fifth does not have any activities that night as of right now but that doesn't mean that
