Substitutes
 
PCM offers competitive daily and long-term teaching sub rates. Please fill out the general application via the link above if you are interested in subbing for the 2026-27 school year. Substitute teachers must upload a valid substitute authorization or teaching license during the application process.
New for 2026-27
Starting July 1, 2026, PCM will be using the Red Rover sub management system. Substitutes can receive job notifications via their free mobile app or via text message. They can also clock in and out of jobs via the mobile app, eliminating the need to use a time clock kiosk! 
Coaching Authorization
 
All athletic coaching positions, including volunteers, must have a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization/License through the Iowa BoEE. 
 
To view the requirements for a first time coaching authorization (or renewal), please visit the Iowa Department of Education website.
In addition, many area community colleges offer weekend courses for a coaching certificate (this is part of the authorization process). You may also visit Heartland AEA Online Learning and pay to take a self-paced online course.
Background Checks
 
All employees, coaches, substitutes, and volunteers of the PCM CSD must complete a comprehensive criminal background check, including a review of the following:
  • Child abuse registry 
  • Dependent adult abuse registry 
  • Sex offender registry
  • Iowa courts online database
 
PCM is now using E-Verify for employment verification.
